Bangladesh started their preparation for the upcoming New Zealand tour with a victory, as BCB XI defeated Sydney Sixers by seven wickets in Sydney on Wednesday.
Batting first, Sixers posted 169 for 9 thanks to Daniel Hughes’ 47 and Jason Roy’s 42. Soumya Sarkar stunned all by taking three wickets in a single over, while Taskin Ahmed and Taijul Islam bagged two each. Mehedi Hasan Miraz and Mashrafe took one apiece.
Sudden rain meant the visitors’ target was revised, the BCB XI needing 84 in 8 overs. In their chase, Mahmudullah hit an unbeaten 28 while Soumya made 20 to steer the team to a win that came only in 6.4 overs. Mushfiqur Rahim was not out on 15.
